I’m not a fan of shortcuts, however, situations always warrant that we “work smart” rather than “work hard”. Yes, you heard me right. Millennials and Gen-Z do not work hard like the older generation used to but rather they “work smart”. I’m amazed at how technology has made our life easy and made us accomplish many tasks within a short period. Some of these tasks used to take donkey years just about two decades ago. Let’s take banking as an example, a few decades ago, it will take you several hours to withdraw money from your account or send money to a loved one. Fast-forward to today, we can quickly send money to our loved ones within a twinkle of an eye, pay for our bills, buy groceries within the convenience of our homes and get it delivered at our doorsteps and the list goes on.
I’m gently digressing from today’s topic – How To Pass ICAN Exams in 30 days. My point from the above is that technology has made the way we live today easier and learning is not an exception.
Our parents today that took the ICAN exams will argue with you that it is not possible to prepare for the ICAN exams within 30 days and pass. Well, this is simply from their experience of having to read bulky books with candle lights and transiting over a long distance to take classes. I recently received feedback from one of our students who used our video lectures to prepare for her Advanced Taxation exam and passed. The unique thing about this testimony from this lady is that she only used our video classes for a week and she passed her Advanced Taxation exams. Well, she wasn’t the only one with such great testimony on our videos, you can visit our social media pages to see some of this feedback.
Now, I will give you tips on how to prepare for the exams of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria within 30 days and pass.
Tip #1: Be Full of Confidence
This is always my first advice to students. You have come a long way to prepare for this exam and FEAR is your first defeat whether you think you can pass this exam or not. So summon the courage and know that it is possible to prepare and pass the exam in 30 days. Well, you must have paid for the exam by now or perhaps you are about to, so, you should stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself “I CAN DO IT”. Yes “ICAN”, that’s the words.
Tip #2: Have a Schedule (Time-Table)
Having a schedule is quite important and will make you organized ahead rather than having to waste time on what to read every day. It is advised that you schedule calculations in the morning and theory in the afternoon or evening. Also, it is good to read at least a diet past question and answer each day. Note that I used the word “read” and not “practice”. This is because you have barely 30 days to your exam day and do not really have time to practice questions. At a minimum, it will take you 4 to 5 hours to practice questions and review your solutions. However, if you have fully prepared for the exams, this is your best time to practice as many questions to test your ability.
Tip #3: Watch ICAN Online Tutors Videos
This is the best way to prepare for your exams especially if you are the busy type. I generally advise everyone to use this method to prepare for their exams. It is very effective and efficient and we have received many testimonials in this regard. The wonderful thing about watching our videos is that you will start recalling once you see the exam questions and start writing. I strongly recommend that you watch the videos as many times as possible. Watch the calculation courses when you are free and can concentrate. Listen to the videos when you are busy with chores, in transit, taking your bath, etc. Connect your device to a Bluetooth speaker or use a headphone if you are on transit in a bus or train.

In conclusion, I recommend that you divide your day into three. Use the night to rest: the night was made for rest so naturally, the brain is structured to make you sleep at night. You need about 6 to 8 hours of rest to be efficient and effective. I advise you to go to bed no later than 10 pm and set your alarm to between 5 am and 6 am. Once you wake up, kick off your day by doing your routine chores and upkeep such as cleaning your teeth, taking your bath, and cleaning your surroundings, etc. While you do this, remember to connect your device to a Bluetooth device and play a video. While you may not get everything, the little things you will get goes a long way and by the time you listen again, you might get everything then. The idea is to prep your mind and gets it ready for the day ahead. Thereafter, study for 3 hours and take a rest of 30mins to 1 hour. After studying for 6 to 8 hours, take a nap (siesta) of an hour to two (this is usually in the afternoon), this will help you refresh your brain and prepare it for the rest of the day.
I wish you all beneficial knowledge, a sound mind, a retentive memory, and success in your forthcoming exams.
